LOGAN'S RUN IS A CITY SICKENER; THIRD DIVISION ELGIN 1 DUMBARTON 1.

Byline: CRAIG CHRISTIE reports

RAYMOND LOGAN was the hero for Sons as his header shattered Elgin hearts.

It was a sickener for the home side who nearly grabbed an unlikely win given that they only had 11 fully fit players available.

However, they flew off the blocks and were unlucky not to take the lead in 11 minutes when Sons keeper David McEwan brilliantly saved Ross O'Donoghue's drive.

Steven McKay then missed a sitter for the home side when his volley from Tony Low's cross was sliced well wide of the Dumbarton goal.

But McKay made amends in 24 minutes when he curled in a superb free-kick from the edge of the box.

Dumbarton stormed back in the second half and McKay did well to clear Logan's header off the line.

But the Sons man would not be denied as he glanced in Stevie Murray's free-kick in 75 minutes.
