LOCKHEED ADVANCED DEVELOPMENT CO. APPOINTS FIVE VICE PRESIDENTS

 PALMDALE, Calif., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockheed Advanced Development Co. (the Skunk Works) today announced the appointment of five executives as vice presidents. Each will continue to direct the activities of the organization he previously headed as program manager or director, according to LADC President Sherm Mullin.
 This marked the first such appointments since the Skunk Works was established as a separate company in May 1990. The newly appointed vice presidents include:
 -- Mike Evans, 51, vice president, advanced programs. A Lockheed employee since 1968, he will continue to direct the Skunk Works' intense effort to obtain new programs;
 -- Bob Goetz, 55, vice president, engineering. After a career with NASA, he came to Skunk Works in 1987 to provide leadership in all areas of engineering;
 -- Al Locke, 57, vice president, manufacturing operations. In his 40th year with Lockheed, he is directing the development of new, modernized and downsized manufacturing facilities and capabilities;
 -- Paul Martin, 46, vice president and program manager, F-117 program. A veteran of civilian positions in the Air Force and the Federal Aviation Administration, he came to Lockheed in 1981 and has directed F-117 activities since 1989; and
 -- Denny Thompson, 50, vice president, business management. With Lockheed since 1960, he leads the business planning and implementation efforts aimed at keeping the Skunk Works a viable, competitive company.
 In announcing the appointments, Mullin said, "Our focus is on the future. These five individuals have demonstrated a strong commitment to the future of the Skunk Works. They have been instrumental in controlling costs, signing up new business and developing a really encouraging set of long-term opportunities. With their continued help, the Skunk Works' future is bright."
