LOCAL COMPANY'S PRODUCT NAMED BY U.S. ARMY AS NEW WORLDWIDE STANDARD
CLEVELAND, June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Keithly Instruments announced that is has won an Army contract that represents the largest order in the Division's history -- $665,000 for the first delivery order.
The contract calls for the U.S. Army to use Keithly's Model 197 Digital Multimeter as its new worldwide standard. A digital multimeter is an electrical instrument commonly used by engineers and technicians to measure voltage, current or resistance.
The Keithly meter was chosen for its high reliability in the field, its price, excellent performance, and its ability to protect against electromagnetic interference (EMI) that can distort instrument readings.
The Model 197 is a 5 1/2-digit DMM that measures down to 1 microvolt, 1 milli-ohm and 1 nano-amp. It is a very accurate meter compared to competitive models, measuring to within 1 percent on its lowest range for AC voltage. The DMM is designed to work under harsh operating conditions, including wide temperature swings.
Keithly Instruments, Inc. (AMEX: KEI) is a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic test and measurement instrumentation and data acquisition and analysis hardware and software. Its products and systems are found throughout the world in universities, industrial research laboratories, engineering development departments, quality control areas and on production lines.
