LLDPE makes tougher blown film.

A new LLDPE resin is aimed at blown films that require extra toughness, such as produce and frozen-food packaging or protective films for transportation of mobile homes and boats. FPs016-C is the latest addition to the Surpass line of high-performance LLDPE resins made by Nova Chemicals, Pittsburgh, with its Advanced Sclairtech dual-reactor technology and nonmetallocene, single-site catalyst. The latter is said to result in superior ease of processing.

This 0.65-MI, 0.916-g/cc resin is said to beat competing materials in tear and hot-tack strength, while sealing at comparable temperatures--a benefit for high-speed packaging lines. A 1-mil film has tear strength of 350 g MD and 450 gTD, dart impact of 700 g, and tensile strength of 6820 psi MD and 6380 psi TD. (For more properties visit Tel: (412) 490-4200 * PTDirect: 279JK
