LITTLE SIX ANNOUNCES THE GRAND OPENING OF MAHTO INDUSTRIES IN OAKES

OAKES, N.D., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Leonard Prescott, chairman of the board of Little Six, Inc. today announced the grand opening of Mahto Industries, a light equipment manufacturing plant located in Oakes. Formerly known as Oakes Manufacturing, Inc., the company was acquired by Little Six in 1992 as part of the corporation's diversification program.
Prescott noted that the acquisition of Oakes Manufacturing provided a significant benefit for both the Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota Community and the city of Oakes. "We acquired a growing company with an established sales network in the European construction market, which will provide the community a stable base for long term economic development; and we also kept vitally needed jobs and business income in this rural area of the state, helping to preserve their local economy."
The plant, which currently employs 34 workers, is introducing a new product line of power buggies, mason tenders, articulated loaders and steer skid loaders for sale in domestic and European markets.
The grand opening of Mahto Industries coincides with the city's annual Irrigation Days Festival, and includes a VIP reception and the official ribbon cutting, which takes place in Hockenberry Park in Oakes on Friday evening. The Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota Community has also sponsored a float in the city's annual parade and will present a Native American Veterans' Honor Guard and Native Drum and Dance Group at the ribbon cutting ceremonies.
Little Six, Inc. and Mahto Industries are wholly owned enterprises of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota Community located in Prior Lake, Minn.
