LITTLE FEAT NAMED JANUARY 'ARTIST OF THE MONTH' ON VH-1
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Morgan Creek recording artists Little Feat will be "Artist Of The Month" of VH-1 in January, it was announced today. As "Artist Of The Month," Little Feat's latest video from their new album, "Shake Me Up," entitled "Things Happen," will enjoy heavy rotation on the channel, specially tagged with graphics distinguishing the band as VH-1's "Artist of the Month."
"Thing's Happen," directed by Julien Temple, features appearances by actress Jennifer Beals as well as numerous New Orlean's R&B/Zydeco legends, including Allen Toussaint, Irma Thomas, Rockin' Dopsie, Queen Ida, Terrance Simien, the Wild Magnolias and the Rebirth Brass Band.
Founded in 1969, Little Feat has recorded several extremely influential albums including "Sailin' Shoes," "Dixie Chicken" and "Time Loves A Hero." Over its 22 years as a unit, Little Feat has forged a tradition of songwriting, studio savvy and seamless ensemble work steeped in the spectrum of American music ranging from R&B to jazz to blues to rock 'n' roll. "Shake Me Up" -- the band's first album on Morgan Creek -- is a return to the rock 'n' roll roots, and marks a significant step for the band as songwriters and performers. The band has just completed a successful four-month North American tour.
As "Artist Of The Month," Little Feat will be featured in a half- hour special focusing on the band's music and history. Little Feat joins the select roster of artists so honored which includes Bonnie Raitt, Pat Benatar, Amy Grant, Bobby McFerrin and Roseanne Cash.
Little Feat will join Michael Penn and MC Michael O'Keefe in playing a VH-1-sponsored benefit concert for New York City's Yorkville Common Pantry on Monday, Dec. 16 at the Ritz in New York.
