LITTLE CAESARS PIZZA ADDS SPAGHETTI TO ITS MENU

Carry-out Pizza Chain Expects to Sell 40 Million Pounds
 of Spaghetti First Year
DETROIT, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Little Caesars(R) Pizza has added a new "twist" to the pizza wars today with the introduction of its new spaghetti product to consumers.
The company is the first pizza chain to internationally introduce spaghetti on a carry-out basis. This will make Little Caesars both the world's largest carry-out pizza chain and the world's largest carry-out spaghetti chain.
Little Caesars, which has 4,500 carry-out restaurants, expects to sell 40 million pounds of the spaghetti in the first year that the product is offered.
The spaghetti introduction will be done in two phases. The spaghetti sampling debuts with Spaghetti!Spaghetti!(TM), available in Little Caesars restaurants now, which offers customers two medium pizzas with one topping and two side orders of spaghetti for $8.98. A large Spaghetti!Spaghetti! order also is available for $11.98.
The second phase will be the addition of spaghetti to the Little Caesars menu later this year.
"Our spaghetti is a high-quality product that tastes great," said Denise Ilitch Lites, senior executive vice president of Little Caesars. "It is a wonderful value and a perfect complement to Pizza!Pizza!(R) and all of our other products."
The spaghetti will be covered with a generous portion of tomato meat sauce made from the freshest ingredients. The sauce and fresh spaghetti are prepared on the premises daily.
Little Caesars Pizza, based in Detroit, has carry-out restaurants in all 50 states, Canada, England and Puerto Rico. By the end of 1993, the company projects to have 4,832 restaurants open with $2.3 billion in systemwide sales.
