LITTLE CAESARS LOVE KITCHEN/LIGHTHOUSE EMPOWERMENT CENTER TO OPEN
 AT PONTIAC AREA LIGHTHOUSE
DETROIT, May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Pontiac, Mich., will soon be home to a facility that will enrich and motivate people's lives when the Little Caesars Love Kitchen/Lighthouse Empowerment Center opens at the Pontiac Lighthouse on Wednesday, May 20.
The Love Kitchen Empowerment Center is located in an area of the Lighthouse totally remodeled by Little Caesars to serve pizza as one way to encourage Lighthouse clients to redirect their lives.
The unique center will provide positive reinforcement to families who are striving for self-sufficiency, and is a joint venture between the Little Caesars Love Kitchen Foundation and the Pontiac Lighthouse.
Initially, the pilot program will provide Lighthouse clients who attend living skills classes and other self-improvement programs with hot, fresh, Little Caesars pizza in the permanent facility. Also, Jefferson-Whittier Elementary School students who have perfect attendance will be invited to pizza parties each month.
The Love Kitchen Empowerment Center, located at the Lighthouse on Orchard Lake and Williams Street in Pontiac, will be used for Lighthouse family-education and job-readiness programs, as well as for serving pizza.
The Little Caesars Love Kitchen Foundation was created in 1985. Its two mobile pizza restaurants travel throughout the United States and Canada to provide nutritious meals to soup kitchens, shelters or wherever people in need gather.
The Pontiac Lighthouse is a comprehensive emergency service provider that helps residents in the North Oakland County area.
"The Love Kitchen Empowerment Center is a creative and unique concept that combines two strong non-profit organizations -- the Lighthouse and the Little Caesars Love Kitchen Foundation," said K. Noreen Keating, executive director of the Lighthouse. "For 20 years the Lighthouse has been serving Oakland County, and our emergency services have been increasingly linked to the growth of our clients. Lighthouse is truly thrilled to be entering in this fine community project with Little Caesars."
Added Lisa Ilitch Murray, Little Caesars vice president of Corporate Communications and National Training, "Since its inception seven years ago, the Little Caesars Love Kitchen Foundation has made a significant impact in communities across the country where our mobile units have visited. The program has fed pizza to 750,000 people in need across the U.S. and Canada, and we believe this success will translate into positive programming through the permanent facility at the Lighthouse."
The two original Little Caesars Love Kitchens will continue to operate as they have in the past.
A private preview party will take place Monday, May 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. to introduce the Little Caesars Love Kitchen/Lighthouse Empowerment Center.
