LITIGATION AGAINST PAGENET DISMISSED

DALLAS, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Paging Network, Inc. (NASDAQ: PAGE) announced today that the purported class action lawsuit brought against the company in March has been dismissed.
The action, filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California was brought against PageNet by five companies who identified themselves as distributors engaged in the paging business -- CommCenter Corp., Citipage, Pacific Coast Paging, Communications Center of Florida, Inc. and W.D.S. Communications, Inc. The plaintiffs had asserted damages in excess of $50 million as well as sought injunctive relief, treble damages, exemplary and punitive damages and fees and costs of litigation.
In October, the United States District Judge denied the plaintiffs' request to bring the lawsuit as a class action. On Nov. 19, 1993, the judge accepted the plaintiffs' request to dismiss the lawsuit and assessed court costs against the plaintiffs.
"When the lawsuit was filed, we publicly denied any wrongdoing," said Terry L. Scott, president of the company. "We are proud of the success we've achieved by maintaining the highest legal and ethical standards and will always aggressively protect our reputation."
PageNet is the largest and fastest growing provider of paging services in the United States, providing local, regional and nationwide service.
