LINGFIELD RATINGS.

RP Rating is the Racing Post's private handicapper's rating, adjusted to 10st (12st jumps), with allowance for weight-for-age (Flat only). The columns on the right show: rating from horse's latest run; best rating from the last 12 months; and rating for today, adjusted for conditions and the horse's potential for improvement.

The best rating is restricted to today's surface (turf/AW) or obstacles (hurdle/chase); latest rating is restricted to the last 60 (Flat) or 365 (jumps) days. Pointer shows top-rated. Scale is 0-140 Flat, 0-175 jumps, allowing comparison with official ratings and Topspeed. Data for handicaps: figures on the left (chases & all-weather in bold) are the official handicap marks the horse ran off on its last six runs, adjusted for penalties, overweight and long handicap (jockey's allowance is always added back). Superior figure is finishing position. A dash indicates non-handicap, or a chase run for a hurdler, or vice-versa. Today is the official rating for today, adjusted for penalties and long handicap. Future figure highlights horses on a higher (+) or lower (-) mark for future handicaps. Data for non-handicaps: adjusted official rating is the current rating, adjusted to 10st (12st jumps), with allowance for weight-for-age.
