LINDSAY DAVIDSON NAMED V.P. OF CONSUMER MARKETING FOR AMERICAN EXPRESS PUBLISHING

 NEW YORK, May 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Lindsay Davidson has been named vice president of Consumer Marketing for the American Express Publishing Corporation, it was announced today by Daniel B. Brewster Jr., the company's chief executive officer.
 American Express Publishing operations include its core lifestyle magazines, Travel & Leisure and Food & Wine, and a range of American Express customer publications, such as Your Company, a magazine for Travel Related Services small business customers, and Departures, a special magazine for Platinum Cardmembers. Also part of the corporation is Skyguide, a monthly airline flight guide, and a books group.
 As Vice President for Consumer Marketing, Davidson will be responsible for magazine circulation, direct marketing of the company's books and ancillary products, and consumer research.
 In making the announcement, Brewster said: "Given her broad direct marketing expertise, coupled with her considerable record of achievements in the circulation area, Lindsay is the perfect choice for this position. We're delighted to have her join us as a key member of our management team."
 Davidson said: "The American Express Publishing properties are highly regarded and well positioned, and I'm excited about the prospect of being part of an organization with such an emphasis on a growth strategy."
 Davidson was most recently Vice President, Circulation, Marketing and Business Development for Macworld magazine, a subsidiary of International Data Group Communications (IDG). While there, Macworld's rate base doubled, and Davidson also served as the point person for some of Macworld's magazine acquisitions and new business launches.
 Prior to IDG, Davidson worked as Circulation Manager for Mother Jones and as Direct Marketing Manager for Family Media where she oversaw subscription promotion for seven titles. Davidson started her career as a circulation analyst for Savvy and California magazines.
 Davidson holds a B.A. in Journalism from New York University, and is a graduate of both the Radcliffe and Stanford publishing courses.
