    LINDE TO UPGRADE AIR SEPARATION PLANT AND LIQUEFIER IN MISSOURI
    DANBURY, Conn., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The Linde Division of Union Carbide Industrial Gases Inc. has announced that it will upgrade its air separation plant and liquefier in Neosho, Mo.  The upgraded plant, which is part of an overall restructuring of the facility, is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 1992.
    Liquefaction capacity of the plant will be increased to 325 tons per day of liquid nitrogen and oxygen.  The restructured facility will feature state-of-the-art equipment, instrumentation and controls that will assure customers of consistent high quality products and will improve energy efficiency.  R.F. Woestman, Linde's vice president of merchant products, said "This restructuring of our Neosho facility, which has been in operation for 25 years, is our commitment to meet the increasing requirements of our customers in the region for cryogenic nitrogen and metallurgical oxygen.  At the same time, we will be able to reduce our operating costs."
    Oxygen and nitrogen are used by the primary metals, chemicals, metal fabrication, electronics, health care, and oil and gas industries.  The plant supplies companies in Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas.
