LINCOLN TELECOMMUNICATIONS DECLARES DIVIDEND

 LINCOLN, Neb., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of the Lincoln Telecommunications Co. (NASDAQ-NMS: LTEC) declared the third quarter common stock dividend of 24 cents per share at its regular quarterly meeting today. Dividends are payable Oct. 8, 1993 to stockholders of record on Sept. 25, 1993. The board of The Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Co. also met and declared the first quarter dividend of $1.25 per share on the company's 5 percent preferred stock.
 President and Chief Executive Officer Frank H. Hilsabeck reported that Lincoln Telecommunications is continuing to invest substantial resources to provide a state-of-the-art telecommunications infrastructure for its customers in southeast Nebraska. "We plan to spend about $32 million this year to ensure the reliability of our network and to deliver the services our customers want," Hilsabeck said. Hilsabeck added the investment includes upgrading the company's landline network with new digital switching equipment, fiber optic cable and software.
 Lincoln Telecommunications is also investing heavily in its cellular network to meet the growing demand for wireless communications. The company will spend about $8 million this year to add capacity at existing cell sites and to build new cell sites for the Lincoln Telephone Cellular and First Cellular Omaha networks. Lincoln Telephone Cellular has already added two new cell sites to its network this year. Four more Lincoln sites are scheduled to begin serving customers before the end of the year, bringing the network total to 16. First Cellular Omaha, which is managed by Lincoln Telecommunications, is expanding its network with seven new Omaha-Council Bluffs area cell sites this year, bringing that network total to 22.
 Lincoln Telecommunications is a full-service communications company headquartered in Lincoln. Through its subsidiaries, it provides local and long distance telephone service, sells and maintains business communications systems and provides cellular service in the Lincoln and Omaha markets.
