LIMITED, INC. NAMES VICE PRESIDENT -- GENERAL COUNSEL COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Leslie H. Wexner, chairman of
The Limited, Inc. (NYSE/LSE/TSE: LTD), today announced the appointment of Samuel Fried as vice president -- general counsel. Fried's responsibilities in the newly created position will include overseeing all legal issues for the 4,100-store specialty retailer.
Prior to joining The Limited, Fried served since 1987 as vice president, secretary and general counsel at Exide Corporation in Troy, Mich., and held the same position at Clevite Industries in Glenview, Ill. from 1981 to 1987. Fried also worked for The Bendix Corporation as an assistant treasurer, senior attorney and staff attorney. In making the announcement, Wexner said, "I have great respect for Sam's legal experience and energy. I believe our business will benefit greatly from his counsel and am pleased to welcome him to The Limited family." Fried, 40, received a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis, and received his juris doctor and master of laws degree in taxation from the Boston University School of Law.
