 LIGGETT MACHINISTS RATIFY UNION CONTRACT
 DURHAM, N.C., March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Members of the Local Lodge


757 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers at Liggett Group Inc. voted Sunday to ratify terms of a new three-year contract.
 "The Union was willing to take benefit reduction and lower than recent wage increases to help strengthen the Company's competitive position in the market place," said acting Union Chairman Al Painter. Senior Vice President of Quality Assurance and Operations Jim Totty added, "Our machinists are an integral part of the Liggett team and the ratification of this contract is an important step in assuring the growth of Liggett well into the future."
