 LIFEFLEET FORMALIZES ACQUISITION OF ATLANTIC
IRVINE, Calif., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- LifeFleet officially acquired

Atlantic Ambulance Services, the largest provider of private ambulance service in Florida.
Atlantic Ambulance and LifeFleet, the nation's largest provider of private ambulance services, have concluded a nine-month discussion and three-month due diligence process. Atlantic will continue operations under its current name in three counties -- Broward, Palm Beach and Seminole -- and in the city of Key West, Fla.
LifeFleet Southeast Region Vice President and General Manager Bobby Peardon will take over the helm from Atlantic Chief Executive Officer Stu Temkin. Temkin is retiring, but he will continue as a consultant with the company for an extended period of time to assist with the transition.
"With combined forces, we will set a new standard for service, providing our customers in Florida with an unprecedented level of quality," Peardon said.
 A History of Commitment
LifeFleet Southeast has provided superior prehospital care services to Florida's Pinellas County and Hillsborough County since 1988. In Pinellas County, LifeFleet operates as the contractor of advanced life support ambulance service for SUNSTAR, which is the Pinellas County Emergency Medical Services Authority.
In Hillsborough County, LifeFleet provides basic life support and cabulance service to more than 800,000 residents.
Atlantic Ambulance Services, established in 1971, performs more than 100,000 transports per year on an emergency and non-emergency basis. Equally committed to providing unparalleled service to its communities, Atlantic is known for its exceptionally well-trained employees. The company employs more than 400 people and owns 70 emergency vehicles.
LifeFleet Southeast is part of LifeFleet. With headquarters in Irvine, LifeFleet operates in four states, serving more than 9 million people by answering to more than 800,000 ambulance calls annually. With the addition of the Atlantic employees, LifeFleet's work force totals nearly 2,000 emergency medical technicians, paramedics and support personnel. LifeFleet President and Chief Operating Officer George B. DeHuff III said, "I have no doubt that we will emerge stronger as an organization and better positioned in our mission to be the premium EMS provider in the country as we join the significant expertise and capabilities of both Atlantic and LifeFleet."
LifeFleet is a wholly owned subsidiary of Secomerica Inc. With headquarters in Newport Beach, Calif., Secomerica is a privately held, diversified services holding company with four distinct operating companies that deliver innovative, essential-life services of extraordinary quality: LifeFleet; Westec Security, which provides installation, monitoring, patrol and armed response services to more than 50,000 California residential and commercial customers; HMSS, an alternate-site infusion therapy company; and Care Visions' Kangaroo Kids, which provides pediatric pharmacy and nursing care for medically "fragile" children. The Secomerica Group, which has annual net revenues of about $200 million, employs 3,600 people in 64 locations throughout the United States.
The president and chief executive officer of Secomerica, Michael S. Kaye, said, "Atlantic has done an excellent job and is a great fit with the rest of the company. The addition of Atlantic keeps LifeFleet as the leading and largest company providing emergency medical services in the U.S. We're delighted to welcome Atlantic to the LifeFleet and Secomerica team."
