LIDS Sports grabs merchandise retailer JAS Sports.


20 July 2012 - The retail division of LIDS Sports Group said it had agreed to purchase sports team merchandise retailer JAS Sports Inc for an undisclosed sum.

LIDS Sports president Ken Kocher said that the company is able to expand its geographic reach in the Greater Seattle area thanks to the acquisition.

Through the deal, the buyer gains nine brick-and-mortar properties operating under the brands Seattle Team Shop, The Dawg Den and SODO Sports, as well as the mobile concession activities near Safeco Field and Century Link Field. LIDS Sports also gains various online shops such as,, and The buyer added that the stores in Seattle will join its LIDS Locker Room concept.

Jeff Scoma, owner of JAS Sports, said that the companya[euro](tm)s clients will benefit from the combination of the partiesa[euro](tm) brands.
