LICON INTERNATIONAL IS AWARDED OVER $1.1 MILLION WORTH OF CONTRACTS
    PENSACOLA, Fla., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Licon International, Inc. (NASDAQ: LCON) Rodney Williamson, executive vice president of sales, announced Licon Inc. has been awarded three contracts from U.S. Government agencies.
    The first contract was awarded by the U.S. Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Fla., for $750,000.  Licon will manufacture two AQUAVAP's to purify waste waters generated at the naval air station.
    The second contract awarded by NASA's primary contractor Lockheed, to manufacture a fully automated AQUAVAP to purify wastewater generated from the cleaning of key components used for the space shuttle.  This contract is for $240,000.
    In addition, the department of energy has awarded Licon a contract for $120,000 for its Pantex Nuclear Weapons Plant in Amarillo, Texas. Licon is designing and constructing a special explosion proof vacuum evaporator for this facility.
    In other action, the board of directors of Licon International and William Shalof, president, announced today that Robert Springer, chairman and chief executive officer of Licon International, Inc. has assumed the additional post of president and chief executive officer of Licon, Inc.  In other personnel appointments and changes, William R. Williamson, 76, has resigned as an officer and director of the company and as chief, research and development, of Licon, Inc., the subsidiary. Robert L. McElroy, 31, has been named vice president, manufacturing, and director of research and development for Licon, Inc.  Rodney Williamson, 41, a founder of Licon, Inc., and formerly executive vice president, manufacturing, has been appointed executive vice president, sales, of Licon, Inc., with particular responsibilities for sales to the U.S. government.
    Licon International, Inc. is a holding company formed to establish, acquire and manage companies in the waste treatment and purification sector.  Licon Inc. designs, assembles and markets on site and mobile equipment used to concentrate and purify hazardous and non-hazardous aqueous wastes.
