LIBYA - Jan. 31 - Tripoli Urges End To Sanctions.

Foreign Liaison Undersecretary Hassouna Shawesh says: "The sanctions imposed on Libya must be lifted completely because the Lockerbie case was used as a pretext to delay their lifting. Now that the court has ended the case, the sanctions must be lifted completely". Asked if Libya regards the verdict as half victory and half defeat, because one Libyan was convicted and the second was freed, he says: "We don't see the case in that way. It was a judicial decision and we respect the decision".
