LIBERTY TECHNOLOGIES, INC. ESTABLISHES AGREEMENT WITH GENERAL ELECTRIC TO INTRODUCE SERVICES IN INTERNATIONAL MARKETS

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Liberty Technologies, Inc., a leader in developing, manufacturing, selling and servicing diagnostic valve testing systems in the nuclear market, has established a new agreement with GE Nuclear Energy to provide motor operated valve (MOV) and check valve diagnostic systems and services to the international market.
GE, the leading designer of Boiling Water Reactors (BWRs) and provider of nuclear plant services to operating BWR nuclear plants, will introduce Liberty's Valve Operation Test & Evaluation Systems (VOTES(R)), QUICKCHECK(TM) and associated services to GE's nuclear customers. Specifically, the agreement provides GE with licenses to perform various services related to Liberty's VOTES and QUICKCHECK systems in international BWR plants.
"Liberty's products currently maintain a leading position in the U.S. nuclear market," said R. Nim Evatt, president and chief executive officer. "This agreement enables us to continue our international introduction of Liberty products and services within new markets, and work with GE toward a common goal of improved plant reliability, safety and cost efficiency."
Liberty and GE are working together to leverage complementary technologies developed by both companies, specifically, GEIEMS, GE's integrated on-line BWR plant equipment monitoring system designed to acquire and analyze plant data, and VOTES, Liberty's MOV diagnostic testing system.
Liberty, founded in 1984, develops equipment based on proprietary technologies to detect incipient failures, degraded conditions and potential non-performance of valves, motors and turbines. VOTES is the leading system for testing motor operated valves in the U.S. nuclear power industry. QUICKCHECK is a diagnostic monitoring system for check valves.
