LG seeks 15% share of projector market.

DUBAI -- LG Electronics, a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, seeks 15 per cent market share of global projector market this year, its top official said.

The South Korean firm, which recorded $48.97 billion global sales in 2011, banks on the innovative products in the pipeline to boost its share in fast growing projector market.

"The projector market is growing faster than smart TV segment and we hope to sell about three lakhs projectors across the globe this year," D.Y. Kim, president of LG Electronics, Gulf FZE, told Khaleej Times on the sidelines of launch event of LED smart projector range in Dubai on Wednesday.

The new range brings to market cutting-edge technology that includes the world's slimmest and brightest smart LED projectors. The new series offers state-of-the-art functions and features including the Intel's wireless display technology (WiDi).

Unveiling the new line up, Kim said the new products offer a record-breaking technology in the form of the slimmest projector that the world is yet to see. He said the new line-ups are slim, compact and provide unparalleled brightness and long lasting LED.

"Today, we introduce the world's brightest portable LED smart projector series in the UAE. The three words to describe our new range of projectors are -- smart, slim and stylish," he said, adding that the specification of projector range sets new benchmak within the IT industry.

In reply to a question, he said LG introduced the new range of products in Dubai because the customers here are able to accept the new technology quickly. "The Middle East is the key market for LG. We are confident that our new range of smart LED projectors will further establish our market leadership in this segment," he added.

LG's PA70G series are at the top of its class with 700 ANSI lumens; making it the world's brightest portable LED smart projector. Among PA70G series, PA72G includes Intel's WiDi, which enables wire-free connection to laptops, turning it into a valuable tool for business, entertainment, the arts, education and a host of other creative applications. Aside from its wireless capabilities, the USB ports offer another option for convenient connectivity to other devices.

Moreover, PB60G series will be the slimmest ever and most compact portable LED project available within the market. The tiny slightly large than a palm sized, has an output of 500 ANSI Lumens and 1280 X 800 graphic display resolutions.
