LFC's Ostrander picks up C3 championship.

Lake Forest's Carter Ostrander defeated Josh Mondy of Colorado School of Mines 21-8, 2115 to win the C3 singles.

Both had quarterfinal tiebreakers and two-game victories in the semis.

While Mondy made a concerted effort in the second game to push a tiebreaker in the final, Ostrander proved to be too consistent in keeping the ball in play.

Ostrander topped Minnesota's Fox Hobart in the semis and edged Brian Lisco of Texas in the quarters 21-16, 7-21, 1110. Mondy turned back Minnesota State's Noah Micke in the semis and LFC's David Carrillo 17-21, 21-6, 11-5.

Quarters: Carter Ostrander (LFC) d. Brian Lisco (UT) 16, (7), 10; Josh Mondy (CSM) d. David Carrillo (LFC) (17), 6,5.

Semis: Ostrander d. Fox Hobart (UMN) 7,4;

Mondy d. Noah Micke (MNSU) 2,9.

Final: Ostrander d. Mondy 8, 15.
