 LEXICON UNIT IS AWARDED $835,000 MODIFICATION
 TO U.S. NAVY TARGET IDENTIFICATION CONTRACT
 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Lexicon Corporation (NASDAQ: LEXI) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Scope Incorporated of Reston, Va., has received a $835,000 modification to the shipboard advanced radar target identification system (Sartis) contract for the U.S. Naval Electronic Systems Engineering Activity (NESEA), St. Inigoes, Md. This modification funds the software documentation and increases the total contract value to $5.2 million.
 Scope is a leader in the development of non-cooperative target recognition (NCTR) systems for all three services and is also currently under contract with the U.S. Army to provide this important capability to its forces.
