What's on readers' minds: The Bush administration's plans to overthrow Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq remained the hottest Mailbag topic for the second consecutive week. As of Friday morning, 32 readers had weighed in on the U.S.-Iraq issue, all but four of them opposing a U.S. invasion. We received 14 letters about the Oregon Legislature's ongoing struggle to balance the budget and its potential impact on schools, and 12 on the Autzen Stadium expansion, six of them noting the juxtaposition of an Aug. 24 front-page story about the $90 million project and another story on the same page about the impact of the state's revenue shortfall on schools and state services.
