LETTERS & OPINION: City pioneers.

Why has the the city's Boulton, Watt and Murdoch statue been allowed to gather dust in a warehouse in Telford for so long?

These three men pioneered the industrial revolution in a city which became The Workshop of the Empire, The City of a Thousand Trades and later the hub of the munitions industry and the Spitfire... They gave us the modern world.

So let's be thankful that the ground-breaking industrialists didn't posses a lack of sense of urgency apparent in today's civic leaders, because if that was the case, the steam engine might be an invention of the 21st century and not the 18th.
