LETTER FROM THE PAST; Life's not a gas with my conversion.

MY conversion to North Sea gas is anything but high speed.

Conversion work on my gas appliances started on Friday, August 30.

After a few hours the engineer was called away to attend to a pensioner who was without cooking facilities.

He promised to return to my house on the Monday. I waited until the following Wednesday before telephoning the Gas Board.

Since then, repeated daily calls have produced nothing. I have no heating that works and the one fire that was converted does not turn on.

Oh yes the conversion kits are in the house. All over the house! Awaiting the engineer's return.

I was told to phone Gas Emergency.

Although someone was being sent straight away, I am still waiting. So what is an emergency? Drastic action indeed. But I could be sure of some action.
