LEROY A. KEITH NAMED VICE PRESIDENT-GENERAL MANAGER OF THE QUALITY PROCESSES DIVISION AT DOUGLAS AIRCRAFT CO. LONG BEACH, Calif., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Leroy A. Keith has been named vice president-general manager of the Quality Processes division at Douglas Aircraft Co., according to President Robert H. Hood. In his new position, Keith will be in charge of Douglas internal quality assurance activities, training and safety, company processes and procedures, automated systems, testing, laboratories and simulation, as well as technology and advanced aircraft development. He also will be responsible for ensuring that Douglas complies with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) directives, initiatives and procedures. Keith replaces Dale S. Warren, acting vice president-general manager, who will stay on board to help with the transition. The 50-year-old Keith came to Douglas after more than 20 years of service with the FAA, where he was the top manager of the Federal agency's Transport Airplane Directorate's Aircraft Certification Service in Seattle, Wash. This organization writes safety regulations, policies, Airworthiness Directives, and certifies that transport aircraft meet safety rules.
