LECTRON PRODUCTS REPORTS RESULTS OF AUTOMOTIVE REBATE PROGRAM
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Lectron Products, Inc. announced in January of this year an automotive rebate program in the amount of $500 for all of its employees who leased or purchased a new car or truck engineered and manufactured by GM, Ford or Chrysler in North America.
Lectron took the action, as a direct supplier to the domestic auto manufacturers, to help stimulate the depressed U.S. auto market. The program was in effect from Feb. 1, 1992, through July 31, 1992. Lectron also participated in matching rebate programs subsequently announced by GM, Ford and Chrysler.
During the six-month period, Lectron employees at its plants in Rochester, Mich., and Hamilton, Ind., leased or purchased a total of 116 cars and trucks under this program. Thirty-eight employees qualified for matching rebates from the domestic manufacturers.
The company said employee response to this program greatly exceeded its expectations. Lectron management is very pleased that the program was received so well by the employees.
