LEAR SELECTS OAKVILLE, ONTARIO, FOR NEW FACILITY

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Lear Holdings, parent company of Lear Seating Corporation, today announced the selection of Oakville, Ontario, as the location of its new 90,000-square-foot "just-in-time" seat assembly facility.
The facility will produce seats for Lear customers and will be a major employer in the Oakville area. Production is scheduled to begin in October.
In announcing the new facility, Lear Chairman Kenneth L. Way said, "This is our 46th facility worldwide. It will be one of our largest and will incorporate the latest 'state-of-the-art' seat manufacturing technology."
Way added, "The Oakville location was chosen after an exhaustive study by our site selection team. The joint efforts and support of the Canadian federal, provincial and municipal government was a major factor in our decision. We look forward to a successful venture with the government, labor and Lear working closely together as a team."
