LEAR SEATING ANNOUNCES RECORD SALES
LEAR SEATING ANNOUNCES RECORD SALES SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- LSS Holdings Corp., parent
of Lear Seating Corporation, today announced record sales of $282 million for the quarter ended Sept. 28, an increase of over 8 percent when compared to $261.2 million for the same quarter in 1990.
Kenneth L. Way, chairman of Lear, attributed the gain to an increase in market share for Lear passenger car and light truck seats. Also contributing to Lear's success was the improved sales from the domestic manufacturers' exciting new 1992 models. "Our customers are specifying Lear seats in increasing numbers," Way said. "Our backlog of $850 million of new orders indicates the growth will continue. We are on target to becoming a $2 billion company by 1995." Way predicted Lear sales worldwide will exceed $1.4 billion for the 1992 fiscal year, an increase of $175 million over the previous year (including joint ventures). The company has more than 11,000 employees and 45 facilities worldwide. Its headquarters are located in Southfield. -0- 11/7/91 /CONTACT: Tony De Lorenzo of Hill & Knowlton, 313-644-9150, for Lear Seating Corporation/ CO: Lear Seating Corporation ST: Michigan IN: AUT SU: JG -- DE023 -- 0965 11/07/91 15:32 EST
