 LEAR SEATING ANNOUNCES FIVE NEW BUSINESS UNITS
 SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Lear Seating Corporation


today announced the creation of five new business units designed to improve customer focus in line with product teams and platform units.
 Robert E. Rossiter, president of Lear, said the five new business units are:
 GM Truck and Bus Unit -- Doug DelGrosso, manager; GM Passenger Car Unit -- Joe Zimmer, manager; Gm Inland Fisher Guide Unit -- Bill Jamieson, manager; Ford-Mazda Unit -- Jerry Harris, manager; and Chrysler Business Unit -- Ed Patricelli, manager.
 "This business unit organizational structure is intended to enable us to improve our customer focus and responsiveness," said Rossiter. "It lines up our organization with customer business units rather than the traditional functional organization."
 All business units will report to Ted Melson, senior vice president in charge of North American operations. The appointments are effective immediately.
 Lear previously announced the formation of a components operations group with Bart Hoemann, vice president of the group, in charge. Hoemann will be at Lear headquarters in Southfield, and will report to Rossiter.
 Lear Seating Corporation, the world's largest independent manufacturer of car and light truck seating, employs 13,300 workers in 45 facilities worldwide. Lear's estimated fiscal year 1992 sales are $1.4 billion.
