LEAR ANNOUNCES NEW DIRECTORS OF JIT OPERATIONS

 SOUTHFIELD, Mich., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert E. Rossiter, president of Lear Seating Corporation, today announced the following management appointments.
 Gerald G. Harris, 59, as Director of General Motors JIT Operations. Harris began his career with Lear in 1962 as a systems analyst and has held numerous sales management and manufacturing positions. He is a graduate of Detroit Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
 Arthur T. Vartanian, 39, as Director of Ford/Mazda JIT Operations. Vartanian began his career with Lear in 1981 as a project engineer and has held numerous engineering and management assignments. He received a bachelor of science degree in automotive engineering from Western Michigan University and a master's in business administration from Michigan State University's Advanced Management Program.
 In making these appointments, Rossiter said, "We are continuing to strengthen our just-in-time operations with these two appointments. Both men have had extensive experience in all elements of our business and they will continue our commitment to providing our customers with world-class quality and service."
 Lear, a Fortune 500 company and one of the world's leading independent automotive seating manufacturers, will produce over 11 million seats this year. Lear employs 12,500 employees in 45 facilities worldwide with sales of approximately $1.7 billion for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1993.
