Your accommodation will be in a Shearings Coast & Country Hotel. These include the Grant Arms Hotel in Grantown-on-Spey which was once patronised by Queen Victoria. The excursions from Grantown are a full day tour across the magnificent Grampian Mountains to Royal Deeside and a tour through Speyside's Whisky Country, with calls at Baxters Visitor Centre and Elgin.
In Strathpeffer, the Highland Hotel and Ben Wyvis Hotel are situated in their own attractive grounds, just a stroll away from the colourful village centre. Near Inverness, the Drumossie Hotel, which is set in landscaped gardens that overlook the Moray Firth to the Black Isle.
Tours include a visit to Inverness, the Highland capital (lock up your wallet - the knitwear shops are almost impossible to resist), and a visit to the mysterious Loch Ness. There is also a full day away via Loch Maree to Gairlock, returning by way of Gruinard Bay.
Further north, the Dornoch Hotel overlooks the famous Royal Dornoch Golf Course and Dornoch Firth, and is just a few minutes walk from the town centre. The excursions are a full day to Wick, visiting Caithness Glass and John O'Groats and a day at Ullapool, a picturesque fishing village, and Strathpeffer.
Whichever town is your base, you will enjoy every moment of your holiday - even the trip there. Shearing's coaches have reclining seats and panoramic windows, state-of-the-art suspension, heating and ventilation techniques and are rigorously maintained for safety.
