BOBBY BARR insists Brechin have had to lower the bar on their season after a miserable March.

The Glebe Park midfield man fears a run of six games without a win has put the title out of reach and made a play-off place the priority.

But despite slipping nine points behind leaders Stranraer, Barr is adamant his fourth-placed side can get back on track at Morton today.

He said: "We must make sure we finish fourth. It was disappointing to lose to Peterhead and Forfar last month as that killed off any hope we had of winning the title.

"The race now is between us, Peterhead, Airdrie and Dunfermline to finish fourth.

"We've had a bit of a dip recently so now we need to get back on track at Morton. We were there earlier this season and they scored twice in the last five minutes to get a draw.

"These are the type of games you need to stand up and be counted in and if we can get a result then it will strengthen our claim for fourth spot.

"We may have hit patch recently but we have five games to go and if we win them we will be in the play-offs."

Second-top Morton are " only one point off the pace and hitman Peter MacDonald has urged his side to keep the pressure on.

He said: "We have got ourselves into a decent position and need to keep it going.

"Brechin have their own AMBITIONs and we haven't beaten them yet this season so hopefully we can change that today."
