Helen Frances Leadley ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - Helen Frances Leadley was born January 2, 1926 in Batavia, New York to Sylvester and Helen (nee Deffner) Lester. She died on Saturday, September 8, 2018 in Seattle, WA. She was married to Edward M. Leadley on August 28, 1948 until his death on May 4, 2010. Helen worked for AT&T and Illinois Bell for 22 years and was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Helen was also the past Treasurer of Park Place Investments, past Treasurer and active member of Encore, active member of the Auxiliary for the Arlington Heights American Legion Post # 208 and a 27+ year volunteer with PADS, cheerfully cooking for and serving those in need. Helen had also been an active member of the St. Thomas of Villanova parish community since 1964, most recently serving as a member of the Funeral Choir and a member of the Golden Villanovans. Helen is survived by her five children, Susan (Douglas) Mormann of Shoreline, WA, Edward "Whitey" (Laurel) Leadley of Wauconda, IL, Richard (Suzanne) Leadley of Bartlett, IL, Robert (Sandra Holliday) of Estes Park, CO and Sally (Daniel) Garrett of Lake Zurich, IL; her brother, Paul (Carol) Lester of Depew, NY, her brother-in-law, Samuel (Esther) Leadley of New York, and her sisters-in-law, Virginia Leadley of Maryland and Jane Dolan of California; her grandchildren, Sarah (Marc) Fernandez of Marysville, WA, Meredith (Nathan) Anderson of Vancouver, British Columbia, Amber (Mario) Peraza of Seattle, WA, Teresa Fires of Cary, IL, Jillian (Keith) Tickle of Oceanside, CA, John (Kate) Leadley of Chicago, IL, Jeffrey (Roxanne) Leadley of Elgin, IL, Stacey Leadley of Chicago, IL, Cally (Zak) Grado of Anchorage, AK, Brittany (Billy) Barmes of Spokane, WA, and Brenton Garrett and Brianna Garrett of Lake Zurich. Helen was also the cherished "GG" of 13 great-grandchildren with another on the way, as well as an aunt to many nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her many friends as well as co-workers in the organizations she was involved with until she suffered a life- changing stroke in February 2018. Her family would like to thank the staff at Foss Home and Village for the loving care she received during her last few months. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Robert, Donald, and Sylvester "Louie;" her sister, Shirley; and two grandchildren, Morgan Francis Leadley and Edward Kral Leadley. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 am Saturday, Oct. 13, at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 Anderson (corner of Anderson and Williams), Palatine, IL. Burial will be private.
