LEADING INDUSTRY EXECUTIVES JOIN CA'S UNICENTER DEVELOPMENT TEAM; Sam Greenblatt of Candle and Nigel Turner of OpenVision To Accelerate CA-Unicenter Development For Next Generation Client Server Systems Management.

ISLANDIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--February 9, 1995--Two leading experts in distributed computing--Sam Greenblatt of Candle Corporation and Nigel Turner of OpenVision--have joined CA's growing CA-Unicenter development team.

Greenblatt, a recognized expert in open and object technology, will become a CA vice president for research and development. Turner, with unparalleled experience in creating distributed management solutions, becomes vice president of open systems strategy. Both will concentrate on the next generation of CA-Unicenter for enterprise management.

At Candle, Greenblatt most recently was chief technology officer and vice president of research and development. He managed key software and application projects in communications, distributed processing, applications and development tools, and innovated project management techniques in the area of object management. Prior to Candle, Greenblatt held management positions at Arco and Commodore International. He began his career with Arthur Anderson in 1975.

Greenblatt serves on the board of the Object Management Group, IBM SystemView Design Council and the Microsoft Technical Advisory Board. He holds an MBA from Temple University in information technology.

Turner most recently was vice president of application engineering at OpenVision. Previously, he spent eight years managing the development of the kernel of the VAX/VMS operating system and its management services at Digital Equipment Corp. His work led the way for many of the computing techniques now commonly used in distributed client/server environments. Turner later spearheaded the architectural definition and development of Digital's distributed application middleware offering, NAS.

Turner holds a B.S. with honors in computer science from Leicester, England.
