 LE PORE ELEVATED TO PRESIDENT OF HUGHES TECHNICAL SERVICES CO.
 MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Philip T. Le Pore has been named president of Hughes Technical Services Co. (HTSC) five months after assuming the position of vice president and general manager of this organization.
 In his previous position he was vice president and general manager of the Arlington, Texas operations of what was then called Hughes Simulation Systems Inc. with sales of $80 million and an employee count of 700.
 Headquartered in Manhattan Beach, HTSC provides field support for a broad range of highly diverse projects, both governmental and commercial. This support includes installation, operation, maintenance and repair of customer equipment and facilities; ground and aircrew training; performance of engineering studies and analyses; and procurement and many other technical support tasks. HTSC has more than 1,200 employees throughout the United States and overseas.
 Le Pore joined Hughes in 1972 after receiving a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from California State University, Long Beach. He has since gained a master of science in electrical engineering from CSULB and a master of business administration degree from UCLA.
 He was instrumental in the early expansion of HTSC, establishing its Ground Systems Operations division in 1985. As manager of Support Systems Operations of HTSC, his responsibilities encompassed the trainer services, arms control verification, high energy laser and data processing centers. Le Pore played a key role in the Votkinsk Portal Monitoring Facility program in Russia in support of the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces (INF) treaty verification for its first year.
 HTSC is a subsidiary of Hughes Aircraft Co. and is an operational unit of the Training & Support Systems Group, headquartered in Manhattan Beach.
