LCI INTERNATIONAL, TRZ COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES AGREEMENT BRINGS HOPE TO DISPLACED SPORTS FANS

AKRON, Ohio, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Sports fans throughout the world can now enjoy every game of their favorite American sports teams as a result of today's announcement by LCI International (NASDAQ-NMS: LCII) and TRZ Communications Services, Inc.
LCI International, the Dublin, Ohio-based long distance provider, and TRZ Communications, a telecommunications company headquartered in Akron, Ohio, have signed a $1 million contract that will bring live coverage of professional and collegiate sports to any home in America or abroad via an 800 telephone number.
"This is a unique service that will be very important to the sports fan who is not living in the regional market that broadcasts the weekly game of their favorite professional or college team," said Tom Wynne, president of LCI International. "With this service a customer calls an 800 number and gets either an upe? of scoring or listens to the game being called by the team's local announcer."
TRZ's service is popular with sports bars. For example, an Indianapolis club has a large following of Cleveland Browns' fans and uses a television satellite dish to broadcast the weekly game along with the 800 number service provided by TRZ Communications to bring the voices of the hometown Browns' announcers. In that environment, the fans in Indianapolis can feel as though they are watching the game on Cleveland television. The cost of the 800 service to individuals is between $.16 and $.50 per minute depending on the length of time the caller stays on the line and the sport to which they are listening and the method by which the caller is accessing the service. This service is also popular in military service clubs.
Besides bringing major college and professional sports rivalries to fans throughout the nation, TRZ is also taking its service abroad to Europe and Canada to meet the demand there for coverage of football, basketball and hockey in the U.S.
TRZ Communications provides audio broadcasts of professional and collegiate athletic events via an 800 access telephone number using state-of-the-art equipment from NEC along with custom-designed software. LCI International, according to the terms of the contract, will be TRZ's exclusive provider of outbound and inbound long distance services via a direct connect in LCI's Akron facilities.
TRZ will be implementing LCI's new Broadcast Fax and Fax on Demand services through a special arrangement TRZ has made with all of their affiliated colleges and universities. Future applications of the LCI International and TRZ agreement include service to the legal, financial and medical communities.
"TRZ is happy to share its new telephone broadcast technology exclusively with LCI International," said Thomas R. Zawistowski, TRZ's founder and president. "Together with LCI's state-of-the-art telecommunications infrastructure, we will be able to jointly bring our clients and customers unparalleled access to new communications tools. Our National Football League, National Basketball Association, National Hockey League and college sports callers will immediately benefit from better service, lower rates and added features as a result of this contract."
