LCC suffers first loss of season.

EVERETT, Wash. - Spokane Community College handed Lane its first women's basketball loss of the season, 81-71, in the semifinals of the Everett Classic on Saturday.

Valerie Meyer led the Titans, who had 25 turnovers, with 15 points.

Mercedes Alexander had 12 points and eight rebounds for Lane, which will take on Wenatchee Valley College for third place at 2 p.m. today.

Micah Mahling added 10 points for the Titans, who fell to 4-1.

Ashlee Mickelson led Everett with a game-high 22 points, Kelsey Stillar scored 19 points and Liz Beardlee added 17.

Gray leads Beacons to victory over Knights

Northwest Christian College overcame 27.3 percent shooting by going 20-for-26 from the line for a 58-47 women's basketball victory over Warner Pacific on Saturday at the Morse Event Center.

Emily Gray led the Beacons (6-4, 2-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference) with 17 points, and McKenzie Gambee had a game-high 15 rebounds.

Warner Pacific stifles Northwest Christian

Josh Jackson scored 28 points to lead Warner Pacific to an 85-74 men's basketball victory over Northwest Christian College at the Morse Event Center on Saturday night.

Andrew Miller led five Beacons (4-5, 1-1 Cascade Collegiate Conference) in double figures with 16 points and added 12 rebounds.

Brent McKee added 15 points and Josh Jarrett, Jordan Whittenburg and Michael Van Loon had 10 each.

Scott O'Gallagher added 19 points for Warner Pacific (4-2, 1-0).

OSU takes 22nd at 50-team Vegas tourney

LAS VEGAS - Oregon State finished 22nd out of 50 teams at the 26th annual Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational wrestling tournament.

OSU's Heinrich Barnes and Brice Arand were both pinned on Saturday in the wrestleback bracket.

At 141 pounds, Boise State's Levi Jones pinned Barnes in 3:14. Arand, of Springfield, fell in 39 seconds to Michigan's Anthony Biondo at 197 pounds.

Beavers finish fifth at Husky Invitational meet

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Saori Haruguchi won the 200 butterfly in 1:56.45 to lead Oregon State's swim team to a fifth-place finish at the Husky Invitational.
