LAWYERS UNVEIL HANDBOOK FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

PHILADELPHIA, March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Young Lawyers Division Chair Andrew F. Susko will conduct a workshop on the legal rights of people with physical disabilities today at the Magee Rehabilitation Center at 1513 Race St. here starting at 6:15 p.m.
Susko will be joined by seven other lawyers at the workshop, which will feature the "Legal Handbook for Pennsylvanians with Physical Disabilities," a new publication written by the PBA's Young Lawyers Division.
"Too often people with disabilities don't know what their rights are," said Susko. "This handbook provides them with basic information on the legal system."
Topics in the 51-page handbook include the Americans with Disabilities Act, special education, Medicare and guardianship. The handbook is free to anyone in attendance.
The handbook can also be obtained by calling the PBA at 800-932-0311, ext. 223. There is a $5 shipping and handling fee for each book ordered. Organizations interested in scheduling a workshop for people with disabilities can also call the PBA.
