LAWRENCE LIVERMORE NATIONAL LAB TO RECEIVE NEWEST CRAY RESEARCH SYSTEM
 EAGAN, Minn., Jan. 7, /PRNewswire/-- Cray Research (NYSE: CYR) and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) have signed an agreement covering the purchase of a CRAY Y-MP C90 supercomputer for delivery to LLNL's National Energy Research Supercomputer Center (NERSC) in 1992, the Eagan-based supercomputer company announced today.
 Cray Research said it expects to produce and deliver to customers seven CRAY Y-MP C90 systems in 1992, the first of which will be delivered in the first quarter. The balance of 1992's production is expected to be delivered during the second half of the year.
 "We are very pleased we can accommodate this valued customer's delivery schedule," said John F. Carlson, Cray Research president and chief operating officer.
 Financial terms of the sales agreement with LLNL were not disclosed.
 LLNL's order for the CRAY Y-MP C90 system, the world's most powerful supercomputer, follows a cancellation of a system order from Cray Computer Corporation of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
