COURTNEY LAWES aims to power England to Six Nations glory on a diet of club sandwiches and meaty collisions.

Injury to Billy Vunipola and Nathan Hughes has created a vacancy for a destructive ball-carrier to eat up the hard yards in Rome. Lawes reckons he's the man for the job since a 'kick up the bum' from boss Eddie Jones brought him a new hunger. "Sometimes you need that to make you realise you're kinda wasting your potential in certain ways," admitted the flanker.

"I'm now one of the main ball-carriers in the pack and it only makes me hungrier to see how good a player I can become."

Lawes' biggest challenge remains keeping his weight up. "He likes a club sandwich," said Jones. "We have got a delivery service coming in from McDonald's every day for him."

England are under orders to "hunt" down Italy - meat and drink for a player with a reputation for big hits, and Lawes vowed: "We're going out to make their lives difficult."

ENGLAND (possible): Brown, Watson, Joseph, Farrell, Nowell, Ford, Youngs, Vunipola, Hartley (c), Cole, Launchbury, Lawes, Itoje, Robshaw, Simmonds.
