LASERMEDICS' MICROLIGHT 830 LASER NAMED BEST NEW PRODUCT OF 1992 BY MEDICAL LASER INDUSTRY REPORT

STAFFORD, Texas, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Lasermedics, Inc. (OTC: LMDX) announced today that its new Microlight 830 low-energy laser has been chosen as one of the best new laser products for 1992 by Medical Laser Industry Report. The company said the selection was made by Irving J. Arons, senior consultant for Arthur D. Little, Inc. and founder of Arthur D. Littles' Ophthalmic and Medical Laser Consulting Group.
In the February 1993, issue of Medical Laser Industry Report, Mr. Arons writes, "In the emerging field of biostimulation, a new product undergoing clinical trials is the Microlight 830 lower energy laser from Lasermedics (Stafford, Texas). This laser is useful for pain management and is currently being evaluated in double-blind studies for treating carpal tunnel syndrome...at General Motors and at the Mayo Clinic."
When contacted about the selection, Mr. Arons added, "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is fast becoming a serious problem for the American work force. It is estimated that as many as 10 percent of those doing repetitive processes may become afflicted with this potentially debilitating problem. If this new method of treatment using a low energy laser is successful in alleviating the painful symptoms of CTS, avoiding the expensive downtime associated with the surgical alternative, then it could have a dramatic impact on increasing productivity in the work force."
Lasermedics recently completed its initial offering. The company's stock currently trades in the over-the-counter market and prices are quoted on the OTC Electronic Bulletin Board. The company said it hopes to have its stock accepted for trading in the regular NASDAQ system later this year.
