LASERMASTER TECHNOLOGIES, INC. ANNOUNCES NEW PRODUCTS AND IMPROVED REVENUE ESTIMATE

MINNEAPOLIS, May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- At a meeting yesterday of securities analysts, Mel Masters, CEO of LaserMaster Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: LMTS) announced that the company's revenue objectives had been increased for the quarter ending June 30, 1993. Masters indicated that, based upon the company's profitable third quarter, and third quarter revenues of $16.7 million, he was comfortable with quarter revenue targets in excess of the $15.3 million recorded in last year's fourth fiscal quarter. This would lead to annual revenues of approximately $64 million, an increase of 8 percent over last year.
At the meeting, Masters talked about the continuing success of the company's typesetter product line, which the company believes has become the product of choice for professionals in the graphic arts, pre-press and service printing industries. The company announced two new plain- paper typesetter models this week, including a model capable of oversized printing, including full bleeds and registration marks typically required by professional printers.
Masters also displayed sample output from the company's pending line of "big color" professional color printers. Reserving comment on products specifics, Masters stated, "The new color products will leverage our historic success in the graphic arts and service printing markets. This move into color will extend the range of products offered by the company to graphic arts printing and publishing professionals." The new large-format color printer will be introduced at Design Expo, in Chicago, on May 19. The suggested list price will be below $20,000.
LaserMaster Technologies, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets plain paper typesetting, specialized Windows and large format color printing systems for professional graphic arts, pre-press and desktop publishing users. LaserMaster distinguishes its product line by proprietary software and hardware engineering, including the company's patented TurboRes resolution enhancement technology. The company markets its products as "The Professional's Choice".
