LARRY MORATA OF McDONNELL DOUGLAS AEROSPACE RECEIVES SALUTE TO EXCELLENCE AWARD

 HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., Nov. 19 ~PRNewswire~ -- Larry P. Morata, vice president, general manager of McDonnell Douglas Aerospace's Space Station Division, received the Salute to Excellence Award from the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE) at the HACE annual career conference Nov. 13.
 The award recognizes Hispanic professionals who have made significant contributions to their companies.
 Morata has a 32-year history with McDonnell Douglas (NYSE: MD) dating back to the early days of the Delta rocket program. Throughout his career he has played key roles in a succession of high-profile programs, including chief program engineer for Saturn IV and V, Skylab, and Apollo~Soyuz. In his most recent assignments he is responsible for the largest portion of the Space Station Freedom program -- Work Package 2, which involves the work of approximately 2,000 McDonnell Douglas employees as well as numerous subcontractors.
 Morata received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Oklahoma and earned a master's degree in engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles.
