LANDS' END TO CLOSE ORLAND PARK OUTLET

LANDS' END TO CLOSE ORLAND PARK OUTLET
DODGEVILLE, Wis., Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Lands' End, Inc., the

national direct merchant of traditionally styled casual clothing, announced its decision to close its Orland Park Outlet store located at 159th and La Grange Road in Orland Park, Ill.
The store, which opened in July 1987, will close its doors at the end of business on Jan. 26, 1992. All employees at the store have been offered the opportunity to transfer to jobs at the company's other outlet locations.
Director of stores John Maher said, "We decided to close the Orland Park store because it has not lived up to our sales expectations. Our customers who have been shopping here will have two Lands' End outlets within a 20-mile radius to choose from, Fox Valley in Aurora or the Yorktown store in Lombard. In fact, the Yorktown store is twice as large as Orland Park and will offer our customers a larger selection of merchandise."
The company will continue to operate its 13 other outlet stores in Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa, which are not affected by the closing.
Lands' End outlet stores do not carry the full line of items offered in the catalog, but concentrate on the liquidation of overstocks and end-of-season merchandise.
