      LANDS' END NAMES WOODWARD VICE PRESIDENT AND DIRECTOR OF
             RESTRUCTURED HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT
    DODGEVILLE, Wis., Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Lands' End, Inc. (NYSE: LE), announced today that John D. Woodward has joined the direct merchant clothing firm as vice president and director of human resources.
    John F. Keenan has been appointed to the new position of vice president, employee relations.  Both Keenan and Woodward will report to company president and chief executive officer Richard C. Anderson.
    In making the announcement, Anderson said, "As our workforce has grown, we have greater needs in the areas of management development as well as benefit and compensation programs, and these structural changes we are making will strengthen our human resources department."
    Woodward, 47, has spent most of his 20-year career in the human resources field, most recently as senior vice president, sales support, for Maas Brothers/Jordan Marsh, a division of Federated/Allied Department Stores, in Tampa, Fla.
    He has held top executive positions in human resources with several major retailers, including the Miami-based department store chain, Burdines; the Broadway Department Stores, a division of Carter, Hawley, Hale in California, and Joske's in San Antonio, Texas.
    Woodward holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
    Keenan, 46, joined Lands' End in 1982 as vice president, human resources.  Before joining the company, he had been director of industrial relations with Joanna Western Mills Company, a Chicago-based manufacturer.  His career also includes seven years as director of employee relations with American Hospital Supply Corp. in Evanston, Ill., and five years with General Motors in their department of labor relations.
    Keenan earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in History from Xavier University in Cincinnati.
    Lands' End is an international direct merchant offering traditionally styled casual clothing for men, women and children, as well as accessories and luggage, through regular mailings of its catalog.  The company also sells products for bed and bath through its specialty catalog, Coming Home With Lands' End.
