LAND ROVER REPORTS OCTOBER SALES

 LANHAM, Md., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Sales of British-built Range Rover sport utility vehicles totaled 465 in October compared to 529 Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles during the same month last year. The October results bring the year-to-date total to 3,724 units, an increase of 24.1 percent over the 3,001 units sold during the same period in 1992.
 "Dealers report strong interest in the Defender 90, which goes on sale this month," said Charles R. Hughes, president, Land Rover North America, Inc. Last October's sales results included Defender 110, which is not available this year. Comparison of Range Rover sales only in October '93 vs. October '92 shows an increase of 8.1 percent, which indicates continuing strength in the luxury sport utility market.
