LAND ROVER REPORTS 57 PERCENT JULY SALES INCREASE

 Lanham, Md., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Sales of British-built Land Rover and Range Rover sport utility vehicles totaled 379 in July compared to 241 for the same month last year for an increase of 57.3 percent. The July results bring the year-to-date total to 2,572 units, an increase of 33.4 percent over the 1,928 units sold during the same period in 1992.
 "We've now had sales increases for 11 consecutive months," said Charles R. Hughes, president, Land Rover North America, Inc. "The air suspension and electronic traction control available on both Range Rover County and County LWB have hit a responsive chord with buyers."
