LAND ROVER REPORTS 12TH CONSECUTIVE MONTHLY SALES INCREASE

 LANHAM, Md., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Sales of British-built Land Rover and Range Rover sport utility vehicles totaled 278 in August compared to 258 for the same month last year for an increase of 7.8 percent. The August results bring the year-to-date total to 2,850 units, an increase of 30.4 percent over the 2,186 units sold during the same period in 1992.
 "We've now had sales increases for 12 consecutive months," said Charles R. Hughes, president, Land Rover North America, Inc. "We're pleased with the results of the 1993 model year and are in excellent inventory balance as we launch the 1994 Range Rovers this month."
